General Itinerary for Sport Fishing off Vancouver
The typical itinerary begins with a pickup at the dock on Granville Island. We will then take you out on a scenic, leisurely cruise along English Bay until we reach the ideal offshore fishing grounds. If this area isn’t producing the big catches, we will move toward the Gulf Islands, where there are clearer waters and better odds.
We do it for you! We set up all the equipment and handle all of the baiting, ensuring all you need to do is relax and have a great time out on the waters. Captain Rod will also help clean or filet your fish, which always makes a nice take-home treat.
Need a Bigger Yacht?
We’re proud to offer the best selection of captained and turnkey yachts in the Vancouver area. With different sizes and styles of boats to choose from, sport fishing is available to groups of all sizes. In 2014, we added our latest pride and joy, the Angler’s Dream II. This 42-foot beauty has already seen a lot of fish and will see many more in the future.
Just a reminder: you will need a Tidal Waters Sport Fishing Licence to take part in fishing and crabbing along Canada’s coastal waters and inlets. Online registration is available through the National Recreational Licensing System
Meet the Captain
Rod Hebert is an experienced, knowledgeable, and certified sea captain. As your trusty guide, Rod knows the perfect spots to catch the big ones, including salmon, chinook, coho, sockeye, chums, and many more.
How to Dress
In Vancouver, morning time can be chilly, especially when combined with the ocean breezes. But, by midday, it can get quite warm. That is why we recommend planning for the both chilly and warm weather by packing a pair of extra clothes, including shorts and a jacket. Please note: high heels or black-soled shoes are not allowed on the yacht.
Our crabbing tours
are also a very popular event for locals and international visitors alike. If you are joining us during crab season, we will cast out some traps to catch the region’s famous Dungeness crab. Dungeness crabs have a slightly sweet taste and are perfect when steamed fresh and dipped in butter.
